Basic cell culture instructions

Basic Cell Culture Procedure Overview
for Anchorage Dependent Cells

Details will vary depending upon size of plate and type of cells used
  1. View cells using inverted phase microscope

  2. Aseptically aspirate media

  3. Rinse media with PBS

  4. Add Trypsin-EDTA to cells

  5. Aspirate TRED

  6. Incubate cells with layer of TRED at 37° C

  7. Resuspend cells with fresh media

  8. Take sample and count cells

  9. Calculate how many cells are needed to add to new plate or flask
