Participation
Students will work cooperatively with their partner and take equal turns in the hood. Use of the lab notebook will be monitored (5 points/week) by the TA to insure that appropriate information is recorded. Students will also show responsibility in informing TA of absences. Pre and post lab exercises will also be checked by the TA
Lab book: 5 points/week (protocol written in lab book for lab and return day)
Preparedness: 1 point/week (shoes, appropriate apparel, notebooks)
General attitude/cooperation: 1 point/week
Promptness: 1 point/week
Tidiness/safety: 1 point/week
Pre/post lab exercises or science article paragraph: 6 points/week
Safety Quiz
Increasingly required across campus, students need to show their certificate of completion to their TA to earn 5 points in the course. The online quiz is straightforward and should require no more than 30 minutes of your time. If you have taken this quiz already for another course, just bring a copy of your completion certificate to your TA.
Lab Write-ups
More information about lab write-ups will be presented by your TA during the first return day of the course. Details are also found in your lab manual.
